My Oscar predictions

Best Picture - Slumdog Millionaire.
Best Director - between Danny Boyle (Slumdog Millionaire) and David Fincher (The Curious Case of Benjamin Button) I give Danny Boyle a slight advantage (but either win is justified).
Best Actor - Sean Penn (Milk). The win is well earned and not awarded because of the gay mafia (yes it exists and Elton John is the Godfather). Mickey Rourke (Wrestler) played himself. Brad Pit (The Curious Case of Benjamin Button) was good but not Oscar worthy.
Best Actress - Kate Winslet (The Reader).
Best Supporting Actor - Heath Ledger (The Dark Knight) will win because he died (there you go, I said it), otherwise Philip Seymour Hoffman (Doubt) should win.
Best Supporting Actress - Penelope Cruz (Vicky Cristina Barcelona). But it should be Marisa Tomei (The Wrestler) or even Taraji Henson (The Curious Case of Benjamin Button).
Best Foreign Language Film - Waltz With Bashir.
If I get a moment before 8:30PM I will predict other categories (WALL-E will win a few).

  1. Best Picture – Slumdog Millionaire, it was without a doubt the best movie of the year
Best Director – Danny Boyle (Slumdog Millionaire)
Original Screenplay – Andrew Stanton and Jim Reardon (Wall-E) or Dustin Lance Black (Milk). Milk will probably take the Oscar.
Adapted Screenplay – Simon Beaufroy (Slumdog Millionaire)
Best Actor – Sean Penn (Milk) or Mickey Rourke (The Wrestler). I think Sean Penn will take the Oscar at the end of the night.
Best Actress – Kate Winslet (The Reader)
Best Supporting Actor – Heath Ledger (The Dark Knight)
Best Supporting Actress – Penelope Cruz (Vicky Cristina Barcelona) or Taraji P. Henson (The Curious Case of Benjamin Button). This award is going to be the surprise of the night. In the end I think that Penelope Cruz will win.
Visual Effects, Art Director – The Dark Knight or The Curious Case of Benjamin Button. I think TCCBB will win these two awards.
    Cinematography - Slumdog Millionaire
Sound Mixing, Sound Editing – The Dark Knight, because these awards usually go to big-budget films, and Dark Knight seems the choice for tonight.
Original Song – Slumdog Millionaire. Wall-E can win here to but not very likely.
    Original Score – Slumdog Millionaire
Costume Design – The Duchess. I haven’t seen the movie put from the photos I saw that the movie has fancy dresses that impress the judges.
Make Up – The Curious Case of Benjamin Button
    Animated Feature – Wall-E
Animated Short Film – Presto (haven’t seen the movie, just guessing and saw some reviews for the movie)
Documentary Feature – Man on Wire
Documentary Short Subject – The Witness
Foreign Language – Waltz with Bashir
